Weekend Commandos Going to Phoenix Park

'Phoenix Park' in Kangwon have set-up a paramilitary 'training area' for those feeling a need to become weekend commandos.

The 'Challenge Adventure Course' offers 25 different adventure scenarios giving thrill-seekers the chance to slide down a rope suspended 40m in the air and go through the other 'boot-camp' stations- all made from logs and rope giving an authentic look to the surroundings.

In order to prevent accidents from happening, the sites has numerous safety nets and safety ropes with two safety guards at each adventure station. People elementary school age and over are able to become commandos if they wish. Also, for their protection, the 'training' stations have been designated as advance, intermediate or beginner level. "The challenge of a given course is dependent upon personal courage and not on one's age or physical skill," said a person with Phoenix Park.

General admission to the 'Challenge Adventure Course' is 30,000 won. However is people wish to only do certain parts of the course, Phoenix Park also offers something they call the 'Big Five' allowing access to five course sites for 10,000 to 15,000 won.
