[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Accident has left loose ends

The tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of two young girls by a U.S. Army vehicle has attracted the public's attention. However, it does not seem that the victims' families have received compensation or an apology from the U.S. Army.

It seems that the World Cup and the naval battle on the West Sea have overshadowed other news in people's memories.

I am worried about our government's approach in dealing with this matter. After experiencing naval battles, the government's attitude appears much more pro-American and it seems that it refuses to say who was responsible for the accident.

If we leave this case with loose ends, it will be a another negative example of accidents committed by United States Army personnel.

(Editor's Note: The U.S. Army last week formally apologized to the families of the two victims. The U.S.-ROK Friendship Golf Club has made a financial contribution to the families.)
