[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Love pets, but respect people, too

I moved to a newly built apartment a few weeks ago. I like the roof because I can dry the laundry there. But recently, I have found that people have littered this pleasant space.
A couple of days ago, I heard a dog barking outside my door. I went out to see if someone was taking a dog to the rooftop and found a woman holding her Dalmatian in her arms as she ascended the stairs. She was not even one of my neighbors.
I complained to her about her dog making a mess on the roof. She said that it could not have been her dog. After I told her that nobody had a dog in this apartment building, she finally agreed to clean the roof, giving me a ridiculous look.
Why on earth did she take her dog to somebody else's apartment? A love for animals without respect for people around you does not qualify a person to raise a dog.
