[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Recyling story ends unhappily

Recycling is a hot issue these days. In Korea, where there is not enough room to throw away all waste, recycling truly counts. As a small step to help save the environment, I have tried to minimize the amount of waste as much as possible. But it seems that not everyone cares about the environment as much as I do.
A couple of months ago, my mother wanted to throw away her beloved wardrobe chest that she had used for 50 years, since she was first married. I argued with her because the chest was still in superb condition after all those years. Plus, the chest would merely add to the already overflowing waste. So, instead of throwing it away, we decided to search for a place that would do the renovation for us. After several days of searching, we found a place, but the service was bad. It makes me sad that so many save-the-environment campaigns aren't working.
