&#91LETTERS TO THE EDITOR&#93New friends helped him in his illness

I am from Bangladesh and have been working in Korea for the last five years. I made the acquaintance of Ewha Womans University Hospital when I fell sick on Jan. 16. Being sick and alone thousands of miles from home made me very sad, but owing to the help of the patients, families and staff at the hospital, I had the pleasure and ease of home.

Despite their hardships, patients frequently approached me and treated me as a companion. Their families were like my own and the hospital staff listened to me in every detail despite my poor Korean skill. I felt so happy and comfortable that I wanted to remain in the hospital!

Unfortunately, that would be impossible after I recovered. I left the hospital with a dream and ambition -- a plan to save money in the hope of building such a loving and caring hospital. I would like to show my deepest appreciation to the Korean people.
