[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Frequent flier calls mileage rules unfair
Published: 23 Aug. 2003, 00:16
I make frequent business trips, using domestic airlines, and I travel to Jeju Island at least twice a month.
As a result, I have many frequent-flier miles on my account with the airline. But last month, while planning to go on a trip to the island, I had an unpleasant experience.
An airline staff member said that the company would subtract 50 percent more miles from my account because it was the summer travel season. I was upset with its policy of charging higher fares, thereby subtracting more miles, but saving mileage records as usual.
I complained to the worker that the policy was unfair, only to hear that he could not do anything for me because of the rules.
The airline was not dealing fairly with its clients by charging higher fees, making an excuse that it was the high season for travel and reducing mileage services.
