[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Touched by those living in small cells
Published: 27 Nov. 2003, 23:42
I am writing in regards to the J-Style article on Nov. 25.
I was very touched as well as concerned for the people living in the jjokbang cells. Where will these people move on to next? It is horrible that many of the people are homeless and it is upsetting that the government will not support these people adequately. What they need is education and moral support as well as help in finding other places to relocate to. They are not homeless because they wanted to be; they are so because of misfortune and a lack of opportunities.
The reason for writing is to see if there is anyway I can help in bringing change. Perhaps, I can teach English to those wanting to learn? Perhaps I can assist by volunteering my time?
