Coco Before Chanel (15)

Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel (Audrey Tautou) is a seamstress who loves to sing and dance at a local cafe. One day by chance she meets Etienne Balsan (Benoit Poelvoorde), a French socialite. Through him, Coco becomes acquainted with the world of the wealthy. She quickly notices that many of the women in these circles are uncomfortable wearing tight corsets and burdensome dresses, so she decides to make clothes of her own, ones that are fashionable yet comfortable.

Along the way, Coco meets Arthur “Boy” Capel (Alessandro Nivola), the love of her life. With Arthur’s support, Coco is finally able to open her first shop.



Black (G)

Michelle McNally (Rani Mukerji) loses her eyesight and hearing just a few months after she is born. Growing up trapped in a dark and bleak world where she is unable to see, hear or speak, Michelle becomes a violent child. But when she is 8 years old, Michelle meets Debraj Sahai (Amitabh Bachchan), an old man who teaches the deaf and the blind.

Debraj’s strict and harsh teaching methods are met with disapproval by Michelle’s parents - at first. However, when the child slowly begins to progress, Debraj is allowed to stay with Michelle and continue helping her.

Michelle learns how to express herself and see the world in a new light with Debraj by her side. But as time goes on, Debraj’s health begins to fail as he shows signs of Alzheimer’s disease. Now it’s Michelle’s turn to show her teacher how to live life.

The film, which was a huge success in India in 2005, is partly an adaptation of Helen Keller’s autobiography “The Story of My Life.”



Treeless Mountain (NR)

Six-year-old Jin (Kim Hee-yeon) and her little sister Bin (Kim Song-hee) are left with their aunt when their mother leaves to search for their missing father. The mother tells the sisters that she will come back when their piggy bank is full. While their neglectful aunt spends her days drinking, Jin and Bin earn money little by little in an effort to bring their mother back. As their piggy bank gets heavier, the sisters are sent to live with another relative who doesn’t want them around. Jin and Bin soon learn that the only people they can rely on are each other.



Quiet Chaos (18)

Successful businessman Pietro Paladini (Nanni Moretti) is happy living with his wife and daughter. One day while at the beach with his brother, Pietro saves two women from drowning. But when he returns home after the heroic task, he discovers that his loving wife has suddenly died from a heart attack. Left alone with his young daughter Claudia (Blu Di Martino), Pietro grows closer to his child. He drives her to school one day and ends up waiting there until class is over. Soon that becomes his daily routine. Suffering through his trauma quietly, Pietro gradually begins to get himself back on track.



Nocturna (G)

Tim is a quiet and shy boy at the orphanage where he lives. The only friends he has are the stars that shine when it gets dark. But one night he looks up to find that his favorite star is missing. To figure out what’s going on, Tim links up with the Cat Shepherd and his faithful feline Tobermory to visit the guardian of the night. The trio fly to the strange world of Nocturna, where hundreds of fascinating creatures work to create the night.

But Tim senses that something strange and dangerous is happening in the city. Will he and his crew be able to save Nocturna and return home safely?



A Perfect Getaway (15)

A newlywed couple (Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich) vacationing in Hawaii is about to embark on a three-day hike to a secluded beach when they hear about the murder of some honeymooners on another island. And the killers - a heterosexual couple themselves - are still on the loose.

They continue on their way and meet another pair of lovers (Timothy Olyphant and Kiele Sanchez) heading in the same direction. While this foursome hits it off, they find out they are being followed by yet another couple (Marley Shelton and Chris Hemsworth).



Public Enemies (15)

Crime, Drama / 140 / English

John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) is proclaimed “Public Enemy No. 1” by J. Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup), director of the FBI. Hoover has assigned rising bureau star Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) to Chicago to head up the hunt for Dillinger, who has been orchestrating bank holdups with gusto and media savvy, crafting something of a heroic public image by stealing the banks’ money, not the people’s.

Even with the cops on his tail, he and his gang live it up at Chicago nightclubs, where Dillinger meets the lovely Billie Frechette (Marion Cotillard). Dillinger dashes around the Depression-era Midwestern United States with the authorities always one step behind.
