Jang and Ko set a date
During a fan meeting on Saturday, heartthrob actor Jang Dong-gun officially announced his wedding to actress Ko So-young, to take place at The Shilla hotel in central Seoul May 2.With preparations in full swing, most expect the top celebrity couple to go big and luxurious, right down to Ko’s wedding gown.
“Jang was so intent on keeping this in the vault, so we hoped everyone would understand their situation,” said an unnamed spokesperson at the actor’s agency, AM Entertainment.
With both 38 years old, giving birth to a child seems to be the next concern after they officially tie the knot. In Korean society, a woman having her first child at 35 or older is sometimes seen as risky.
One of Jang’s close friends, Kong Hyeong-jin, finally got a chance to express his best wishes to the couple at Jang’s fan meeting.
“I knew about their relationship from the beginning, but I kept it a secret,” said Kong. “As two of the most beautiful people, I hope that they’ll be able to raise two boys and a girl.”
Another close friend also revealed that both of the couple’s families are concerned about this issue, and that trying to have a child after they get married might be difficult for them.
After appearing in a movie together in 1999, Jang and Ko became friends. About two years ago, when both were on break, they became lovers, and their relationship was revealed in November.
