Label: Sony Music

Genre: electronica, synth pop

European electronica duo Hurts is gaining popularity these days - and it is easy to see why.

Their recently released album “Happiness” diverts from the typical loud and strong beats of electronica, and includes their own particular style of surpassing genres and music tastes.

The song, “Stay” is a soft ballad that sounds similar to the Goo Goo Dolls.

There are some tracks that stick to classic electronica such as “Better Than Love,” which still feels a bit melancholy.

Australian superstar Kylie Minogue also contributes her talent to the song “Devotion.” She was able to lift the mellow sound with her distinct voice. The last track, “The Water,” is carried by a piano and sad autumn-like lyrics. The tracks have an overall timid feeling, but still make listeners feel comfortable; they do not focus too much on one particular style of music.

Hurts show why they are on top with this album.
