The 21st Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) will be held tomorrow at 14 different regions with 8,233 test-takers. The test scores are used in school admissions and job searches in Korea. The test was first administered in 1997, when only 2,692 people took the test. So far, 710,000 people from 39 countries have taken the test.

The test is divided into four parts: vocabulary and grammar, writing, listening and reading. The test can be taken at three different levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced.

The National Institute for International Education administers the test, which is offered four times a year.

Test results will be announced on the Web site, http://topik.go.kr, on Feb. 9. For details, call (02) 3668-1331.
