Summer sale starts Friday

International tourists visiting Seoul will have a chance to bag a bargain this summer thanks to a city promotion that is part of the 2011 Seoul Summer Sale.

The 38-day shopping festival will run from Friday to July 31 and international tourists will be able to enjoy discounts on numerous products and services including shopping, restaurants, accommodations, tourist attractions and theaters.

Providing discounts will be major department stores, including Galleria, Lotte, Shinsegae and Hyundai; duty free shops, including Walkerhill, Lotte and Donghwa; and numerous shopping centers and supermarkets.

Tourists interested in culture will be able to receive discounts on several performances, such as “Jump” and “Nanta.”

A total of 6,000 companies will take part in the festival, according to the city.
