2PM to perform at legendary venue

Boy band 2PM’s agency JYP Entertainment announced yesterday that the group will perform at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo during the summer of 2012. The concert at the famed venue will go on for six days straight.

Nippon Budokan is a concert venue that has a maximum seating capacity of 10,000 people and is called the “Dream Stage” for Japanese musicians who aspire to perform at the venue.

“There have been other K-pop acts that performed at Nippon Budokan, but never for six consecutive shows. 2PM will be the first-ever Korean band to do that.

“Given that the band only made their debut in Japan last year, this is a phenomenal feat,” said a representative from JYP Entertainment.

The band hopes to make the concert a memorable one for their Japanese fans.

After just one year in Japan, the six-member boy band ranked second in record sales among all newcomers.
