Band Jaurim to become the first contestant on “I Am a Singer” to not perform a farewell act.

The lead singer of the band Yuna Kim said on her Twitter account on Jan.2, “Due to change in the program’s structure, we are unable to perform a farewell act.”
Instead of being awarded a special farewell segment, Jaurim was made to “graduate with honors” from the program, which is what happens to contestants who maintain top spots on the show. The artists who are made to “graduate” are not allowed to come back, ensuring that new talent can filter in through the show.
In the previous season, singers Kim Bum-soo and Park Jung-hyun were given the chance to perform a “graduation” act after being told of their dismissal. Yet a representative from the show said that such ceremonies will not take place from this point forward.
The representative did however say that in the following week on Jan. 8, instead of a farewell act by Jaurim, a video including all of the best moments of the band on the show will be shown.
Meanwhile, the band’s hit songs including 15 tracks from the show will be made available to purchase on CDs and DVDs.
