Insider says Hanna committed suicide
Singer-actor Hanna, who was formerly affiliated with JYP Entertainment, committed suicide earlier this year after suffering from an anxiety disorder, according to local media reports yesterday.
She allegedly took her own life on Jan. 13 at her house in Bundang, Gyeonggi.
Her death was kept out of the spotlight because her funeral was a modest affair, with only family members in attendance.
The case surfaced yesterday morning when a K-pop industry insider told the press about the matter, local news reports indicated.
According to the insider, Hanna committed suicide without telling anyone beforehand and was later discovered by her mother, who visited her home after she couldn’t get a hold of her.
The alleged cause of the singer’s fatal decision was an anxiety disorder, the insider said.
Having debuted in 2004 with the song “Bounce,” the singer was once considered by local media as a musician with great potential. She entered the film industry in 2011 under the stage name Han Ji-seo by starring in the movie “Money Bag.” By Lee Sung-eun
