Thousands of anglers vie to catch trout, casting lines into holes dug from the surface of a frozen river during the Hwacheon Sancheoneo (Mountain Trout) Ice Festival yesterday in Gangwon. The Ice Festival, back on its feet after its cancellation last year due to an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, opened on Saturday and runs until Jan. 29.
