Lee Seung-gi talks hopes and dreams with press in Japan

Lee Seung-gi performed in front of the press in Tokyo on Jan. 30 and talked to reporters about his aspirations to break into the Japanese entertainment world.

The Korean superstar sang his hit single “Because We’re Friends” as well as his first Japanese-language song “Alone in Love,” set to be released on March 6.

Lee also announced that his first Japanese concert will be on June 1 at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo.

“I’m thrilled to announce that I will be performing at the legendary venue,” he said. “I know that it’s not just any concert hall.” His concert will mark the first time that a K-pop artist has taken to the famed venue.

Lee also opened up about his hopes to star in a Japanese variety show, saying that he’d “love to be on a variety program where Japanese and Korean entertainers can travel to some location together.”

Starring in a romantic comedy film was also on his list, especially if Japanese actress Haruka Ayase were to play his love interest.

In Korea, Lee currently hosts the celebrity competition show “Mighty Heart” and appears in the variety show “One Night, Two Days.”
