‘Kim Jung-min video’ maker caught

The man who uploaded a porn video supposedly featuring actress Kim Jung-min has been caught.

Gangseo Police said Wednesday that they booked without detention the man accused of uploading the video. The man is an average-joe office worker who goes by the surname Kim, police said.

Kim’s agency said it plans to take action against the man. “We will listen to the advice of the police, but we feel that we should stand firm and act accordingly,” a representative from Kim’s agency said.

Too many women, including trot singer Jang Yoon-jung, have been the targets of obscene photos and videos posted online, the agency said.

Kim Jung-min has used her Twitter account to denounce the video as a sham, writing: “I’ve never taken part in such activities. I saw the clip myself and can confirm that it’s not me. This is the hardest time I’ve ever faced in my career.”

She said that although it isn’t the first time she’s been publicly humiliated, she needs to clarify the matter as her dignity as a woman is at stake. By Carla Sunwoo
