Actor Ha takes his art to Hong Kong

Actor Ha Jeong-woo will again show his artistic side when he exhibits his 15-piece “Hong Kong” series during Hong Kong Art Week from May 17 to 20.

Ha’s agency Fantagio Entertainment said that Ha left for Hong Kong recently and spent four days in a hotel “just painting” in preparation for the event orchestrated by Hong Kong Contemporary.

Ha’s work for this show is based on people, and his paintings contain vibrant colors and bold lines.

During his creative outbursts, Ha has also stepped away from the canvas and painted on jeans.

Art critic Kim Jong-geun, who accompanied Ha to Hong Kong, said that he was amazed at Ha’s concentration. The artist is known to have spent more than 15 hours straight working on his pieces.

“It’s such a shame that Ha chose to become an actor when he has such a bright future as a painter,” said Kim.

Ha has exhibited his work several times. Most recently, he exhibited a piece entitled “Love Fiction” - named after the movie he starred in - at the Insa Art Center in Kwanhoon-dong, central Seoul, last month.
