SM finally signs up for Twitter, Weibo

테스트

K-pop powerhouse SM Entertainment has finally jumped on the Twitter and Weibo bandwagons, launching SNS accounts on Tuesday.

A party to mark the occasion was attended by Hallyu stars Jang Dong-gun and Kim Ha-neul, and SM artists Super Junior, SHINee and Girls’ Generation. Jang and Kim belong to SM C&C, a subsidiary of SM.

The next day, the agency showed off its social media aptitude by posting pictures from the party.

As the K-pop agency looks toward international growth, the two accounts should allow for more communication with fans in English and Chinese.

Last year, SM opened a Facebook page in June that was the first Korean page to be a “Facebook Celebrity.”

Meanwhile on Nov. 23 and 25, the agency will hold its “SM Town Live World Tour III” concerts in Singapore and Thailand.

This year alone, the tour has traveled to Hollywood, Taipei and Tokyo, not to mention the mecca of K-pop, Seoul.
