[Letters] It doesn’t matter what kind of dog it is
I was interested to read your article about the dog meat trade in Korea (the Dec. 3 and 4 editions) and was a little confused by some of the assumptions made by the people interviewed and therefore the conclusions that were inferred towards the end of the second part of the series. If a “yellow dog” is taken from birth and trained to be a loyal pet, would it not be a dog for eating? I’m surprised you didn’t bring this point up and include it. A dog is like a child: It doesn’t matter what kind of dog it is, what matters is how it is treated.
