Fuel efficiency is great in Renault Samsung’s models
Renault Samsung Motors said yesterday its New SM3 and New SM5 Platinum have the best fuel-efficiency ratings in their segment under the nation’s new measuring system. From this year, automakers must adhere to the new system by using clear labels that show their fuel-economy readings both on the highway and in the city, as well as a combination of the two. Previously, automakers only had to display one figure that was measured in laboratories via a computer simulation.
According to RSM, its SM5 offers a combined fuel efficiency rating of 12.6 kilometers per liter (29.6 miles per gallon), the best among local midsize cars. Hyundai Motor’s Sonata and Kia Motors’ K5 both have ratings of 11.9 kilometers per liter, while GM Korea’s Malibu offers 11.6 kilometers per liter.
