Will iPhone 5 be on discount list during Friday’s big sale?
Apple Korea is throwing a one-day sales event on Friday ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.The annual event, dubbed “Red Friday,” is an Asian version of Black Friday in the United States and will be held across China, Hong Kong, Singapore and many other Asian countries. It was held for the first time in 2011.
Products like iPhones, iPads, iPods, Mac Books and accessories are expected to appear at discounted prices but Apple Korea declined to confirm whether the latest iPhone 5 was on the list. Apple included its iPad 2 in last year’s sale event.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 5 and fourth-generation iPad were sold at discounted prices over Black Friday in the U.S. in November, but not the iPad mini. The discounts tend to range from 10 percent to 30 percent.
