Psy brings his signature hit to Brazil
Psy took “Gangnam Style” to the Salvador Carnival street party in Bahia, Brazil, on Saturday.Singing the K-pop hit with top Brazilian singers such as Claudia Leitte and Gilberto Gil at the opening event for the carnival, the 36-year-old world star memorized fans, who followed along with the signature horse-riding dance.
Major Web portals showed much interest in the event and reported on the singer’s recent performances. They also made remarks about his record-breaking 1.2 billion views on YouTube.
“Psy wowed the audience with an unexpected performance never seen in previous Brazilian carnivals,” one media organization reported.
Psy also had good things to say about his time in Brazil.
“I won’t forget the energy of samba for the rest of my life,” he said on Twitter after the performance.
The Brazilian Carnival runs until today to mark the 50th anniversary of major Korean immigration to Brazil.
