LS Cable touts new 10 Gbps cable as world’s thinnest

LS Cable & System announced yesterday that it successfully developed the world’s thinnest 10 gigabyte-per-second (Gbps) communication cable.

The company said the new 10 Gbps level LAN cable measures 7 millimeters in outer diameter compared to developed by overseas competitors that measure between 7.2 millimeters and 8 millimeters.

It said the cable is capable of providing stable transmission of massive data in data centers, research labs, airports and medical facilities.

The cable will help Korea’s leading cable maker cement its position in China and Europe as well as targeting major data centers and facilities in Korea as its thinness minimizes installation space and reduce construction costs.
