Samsung’s Smart App Challenge 2013 open to everyone

Samsung Electronics said it will launch Samsung Smart App Challenge 2013, a global app competition aimed at finding new applications utilizing group communications functions, on June 20.

It is the second time Samsung has hosted the global contest for Android developers.

Ten entries will be selected as winners, receiving a combined $800,000 in prize money along with a variety of promotional benefits. The challenge is open to all mobile application developers across the globe. Developers who wish to participate should sign up directly on the App Challenge Web site (www.smartappchallenge.com) and register their apps on Samsung Apps from June 20 till Aug. 31.

“With Samsung Smart App Challenge 2013, Samsung is going to boost the mobile ecosystem,” said Hong Won-Pyo, president and head of Samsung’s Media Solution Center.
