Chrysler Korea, the Korean unit of U.S. automaker Chrysler Group, will voluntarily recall 2,014 Jeep Compass vehicles for problems with seat belts and side airbags, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said yesterday.
According to the ministry, the car’s seat belt pre-tensioner, which tightens the seat belt when the air bag sensor detects impact, and side curtain airbags might not work properly when the vehicle is upside down. The recall includes Compasses made between Nov. 2, 2009, and July 16, 2012, the ministry added. Repairs are free at any Chrysler service center.
