KT faces seven-day new subscriber suspension, fine
KT was suspended from recruiting new subscribers for seven days beginning yesterday on top of a 20.24 billion won fine on charges of offering subsidies to new subscribers that exceeded the government-designated maximum amount of 270,000 won. It is the first time the Korea Communications Commission singled out a carrier for spearheading the practice.On July 18, the commission slapped a combined 66.96 billion won fine - the largest ever by the 5-year-old top regulator - on three mobile service providers on the same charge.
