An intimate wedding for 300
Actor Ji Sung, of the MBC drama “Royal Family,” and actress Lee Bo-young, of the SBS drama “I Hear Your Voice,” have decided to join the list of celebrities sticking to a small wedding. Although what they consider small might be a bit bigger than some - just 300 guests, according to Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.“They are limiting themselves from inviting fellow celebrities but will have their families and close friends,” said a wedding industry official.
The official added that the couple’s family wanted a quiet and meaningful wedding rather than a grandiose one. “That has been the trend among celebrities,” they said.
Prior to Ji and Lee’s wedding, actor Lee Byung-hun, one of the leading figures in the Korean Wave, and actress Lee Min-jung also had a relatively smaller wedding, with 900 guests.
But in the past, other celebrities have had weddings that topped 2,000 guests.
Ji and Lee left for Spain last week to shoot their wedding photos and to have an early, substitute honeymoon as Ji’s new drama, “Secret” starts filming two days before their Sept. 27 wedding.
