Top drama prize goes to Israeli war series

The best television dramas from around the world were recognized at the Seoul International Drama Awards yesterday.
The grand prize for best overall drama went to Israel’s “Prisoners of War” Season 2, which follows a group of Israeli soldiers who are captured during a secret mission in Lebanon. Spain’s “Grand Hotel” Season 2 took the Gold Bird Prize in the serial section for programs with more than 12 episodes. Runner-up was Korea’s own “Chaser,” which aired on SBS last year.
In the TV movie section, France’s “The Jewish Cardinal” took the top prize while Israel’s “Welcome and …Our Condolences” was second.
In the miniseries section, Germany’s “Generation War” won first place while Norway’s “The Half Brother” came in second. The prize for best screenplay went to the producers of Sweden’s “Real Humans.” Kim Yun-jin of “Lost” fame was also in attendance for her role in “Mistresses” and to present the grand prize award.
