Structura High Stew Pot

Fissler Korea will voluntarily repair or reimburse customers for repairs to correct defective lids on Structura High Stew Pots that may pop off under pressure while cooking.

The price of the Structura High Stew Pot is about 599,000 won ($557) at department stores.

The Korea Consumer Agency began an investigation after five similar complaints through August to its Consumer Safety Center. The Structura set contains four pot products, and the defect was found only in the largest.

The KCA asked Fissler Korea to come up with corrective actions after determining the covered pot does not discharge steam smoothly.

Fissler Korea will provide a silicon clip to be attached to the lid to allow steam to escape or make a 4-millimeter (0.16-inch) hole in the lid, whichever customers choose.

Pot owners who have already paid for repairs will be reimbursed upon presenting a receipt for the work. About 20,000 products sold between 2008 and 2012 are subject to the problem, and owners will be notified by mail. The KCA also recommended consumers who use Fissler’s High Stew Pot from the Structura set to take their pots to the stores where they bought them.
