Producer Yang Hyun-suk of YG Entertainment met with CEO Back Chang-ju of CJeS Entertainment recently, creating much buzz over why the two had met.
The two management agencies are known widely in the global entertainment scene, as YG houses stars such as Psy, Big Bang, and 2NE1 while CJeS manages boy trio JYJ, actor Lee Jung-jae and others.
An official aware of the meeting said that the two agency heads simply had a meal together, but industry experts predict that the two may have talked about merging or working as a team.
Such predictions came as another big-name entertainment company, SM Entertainment, had recently acquired Woollim Entertainment, which manages boy group Infinite.
Cube Entertainment, which manages boy group Beast and girl group 4Minute, also recently merged with iHQ, which manages actress Hwang Jung-eum.
