The Lotte Giants signed a four-year, 3.5 billion won ($3.3 million) deal yesterday with the 30-year-old free agent first baseman Choi Jun-suk, previously of the Doosan Bears.
In addition to a base salary of 400 million won per year for the next four years, the contract includes a 1.5 billion won signing bonus and 400 million won option.
The Giants are expected to use Choi as their cleanup hitter.
Choi has only had seven home runs during the regular season this year, but he hit six more home runs in the 2013 KBO postseason, attracting many teams in the market for right-handed sluggers.
