Cable manufacturer awarded orders to set up lines in Qatar

Taihan Electric Wire, the nation’s second-largest cable maker, said that it secured $76 million worth of orders from Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) to supply high-voltage cable.

This is the first time that the company won an order in the Middle East nation since it landed there in 2008. Taihan said that it first won a $63 million order to set up transmission line between electricity substation in Doha and other regions, then it won a $13 million project to set up cable for a substation in the Messaieed area. Construction is expected to take about 19 months.
