Recalls affect Ssangyong Korandos and BMW 7 Series

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said yesterday that Ssangyong Motor should recall more than 29,000 vehicles due to transmission levers that may fall out of place.

The recall affects 26,151 units of Korando Sports produced between Jan. 3, 2012, and May 24 and 3,662 units of Korando Turismo made between Feb. 1 and May 14.

Meanwhile, the ministry ordered BMW Korea to recall units of its flagship 7 Series produced from February 2004 through July 2008.

The ministry said 1,294 units of 7 Series in nine models were found to have defective software that may cause the transmission to shift from park to neutral, while 290 units of five 7 Series models had a software problem that may cause doors to not fully close.

Repair services are available in any Ssangyong or BMW service shop.
