Jackie Chan arrives in Korea

Actor and director Jackie Chan arrived in Korea yesterday to promote his new movie “Police Story 2014.”

His trip comes about one year after his last visit here, when he came to promote the film “Chinese Zodiac.”

Chan met with local fans and reporters at a red carpet event for the soon-to-be-released movie at IFC Mall in Yeouido, western Seoul.

Today he will film a segment for the KBS entertainment show “Happy Together,” along with Choi Si-won of the boy band Super Junior, Jessica of Girls’ Generation and Narsha of the girl group Brown Eyed Girls.

The show’s theme is “Jackie Chan and His Friends,” and the K-pop stars are all celebrities Chan has already forged a good relationship with.

It is not his first time being on entertainment shows in Korea. Chan has appeared on SBS’s “Running Man” and the MBC talk show “Knee Drop Guru” before. He has been coming to Korea to promote his movies for decades.

Chan’s “Police Story 2014” will open in Korea on Jan. 29. In China, it opened with $11.6 million on its first day, the best debut for a Chan film in his four-decade career.
