Sales of imported cars jump 20% in first month of years

Imported car sales are poised to jump more in 2014 after January sales rose more than 20 percent over a year ago.
According to data from the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (Kaida), a total of 14,849 foreign-made vehicles were sold last month, up 20.3 percent from a year ago.
BMW was the best seller with 3,408 units, followed by Mercedes-Benz (2,773) and Volkswagen (2,700).
German brands continued their dominance, accounting for 74.8 percent of imported car sales in January.
The best-selling model in January was BMW’s 520, followed by Volkswagen’s Tiguan 2.0 TDI and Mercedes-Benz’ E220 CDI.
