Seoul police officers use a KT system to monitor security in Jongno District, central Seoul. KT said yesterday that it has won a bid to set up an ICT-based security system in the African country of Angola. The project, “113 Command and Control Center,” is estimated to be worth 41 billion won. KT will provide the system and solution services, install cameras to capture images of speeding vehicles and set up a closed-circuit television system.
“The exported police security system is a convergence of Korea’s advanced information technology with emergency reporting services,” said Lim Tae-sung, the head of KT’s global business department. “We hope that this will expand in neighboring countries in Africa, which has vast resources but whose economic growth is held back by its lack of security.” Provided by the company
