The Goyang Wonders, an independent baseball team in Korea, has signed a contract with Jonathan Albaladejo, a right-handed reliever who has played for the New York Yankees and Nippon Professional Baseball’s Yomiuri Giants.
The 32-year-old Puerto Rican played for the Yankees in the 2009 and 2010 seasons and has a record of 6-3 with a 4.34 ERA in his MLB career. He had a record of 2-2 with a 2.45 ERA and two saves in 46 games with the Giants in the 2011 season.
“He is willing to play in the Korea Baseball Organization in the future,” said Park Yong-cheol, Albaladejo’s agent. “We judged that the Wonders is the type of team that can help him to fit in with the KBO.”
