Simon D joining a new label

Rapper Simon Dominic of the Korean hip-hop duo Supreme Team joined a new label, AOMG, which is headed by Jay Park, or Park Jae-bum, a former member of 2PM, according to local reports yesterday.

An industry insider said yesterday, “Simon D will be a co-executive of AOMG with Park and will collaborate to lead the company’s singers and producers.”

The 30-year-old rapper had left his former agency, Amoeba Culture, the home of many Korean hip-hop musicians such as Dynamic Duo and Zion.T and announced in January that he will act independently from
now on.

“I think he wanted to work with new musicians in a new environment,” the insider said, adding that the two will work together to raise awareness of Korean hip-hop around the world and expand the label into the fields of performance and fashion.

AOMG is an abbreviation for “Above Ordinary Music Group,” the agency’s motto, which states that it will not pursue a common music
style. Park founded the agency in October.
