KT Chairman Hwang Chang-gyu pledged to strengthen fundamental support for partner companies to enhance their competitiveness at the first KT Partner’s Fair yesterday at the KT Research and Development Center in Woomyeon-dong, southern Seoul.

“We will cooperate with our suppliers as a true partner to gain their trust by eliminating the relationship between subordinates and superiors so we can provide the highest-quality products and services to our customers,” said Hwang. “In order for KT to become the No. 1 carrier, it is most important that we put customers first above all.”

The event brought together 155 suppliers and 400 KT employees to strengthen ties and pledge shared growth.

To this end, KT released a new slogan that reflects its intent to work as one with partners: “Single KT, Single Partners.”

“Single KT” was suggested by the chairman, who asked employees and affiliates to work as one with the same vision.

Hwang also said he would spare no effort to bolster the fundamental competitiveness of suppliers and partner companies.

At the event, KT signed a memorandum of understanding with 13 suppliers and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency Software Engineering Center under the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning.

“From now on, suppliers will be able to increase their software development capacity as they will receive mentoring and on-site support from the Software Engineering Center for free,” said a spokesman for KT.

The Software Engineering Center will visit KT suppliers and provide tailored mentoring and on-site education regarding software .

KT’s experts in relevant departments also plan to actively participate in improving the quality of software of suppliers.

At the event, KT also held a joint seminar with its suppliers, exhibiting products from 22 partner companies at the KT Research and Development Center.
