Coupang has hot airfares for in-country summer trips

With the summer vacation season fast approaching, the social commerce site Coupang is offering discounts of up to 52 percent on Busan Air tickets purchased before Sunday for travel inside the country through July 24.

The offer includes one-way and round-trip fares. Round-trip tickets are 74,900 won ($73) to 99,900 won.

Available routes include Seoul-Jeju, Busan-Jeju and Seoul-Busan trips.

A one-way ticket from Gimpo to Busan is 26,900 won, less than the KTX, where the cheapest ticket is 43,200 won. Fuel charge and airport tax - about 15,000 won - must be added to the price.

Coupang offers various packaged products, including a combined package that offers a discount on Busan airfare, a midsize rental car and accommodation. The one-night price for the combined package is 139,000 won to 149,000 won.

The site has Jeju vacation products where customers can enjoy various activities like side trips to the Udo or Marado islands as well as horseback riding and hiking. Prices range from 119,000 won to 249,000 won. Customers can also choose combined airline ticket and car rental products ranging between 59,000 won and 85,000 won.

“This event is targeted at customers who want to enjoy a comfortable trip at a thrifty price,” said a Coupang official. “We hope to provide similar travel products with affordable prices through cooperation with our partnering companies.”
