Hanssem makes list of top 100 job-creating companiesHanssem, the country’s leading furniture manufacturer, said yesterday that it was selected by the Ministry of Employment and Labor as one of the 100 companies that have contributed most to job creation.
The companies are selected by a committee of experts including academics, researchers and labor organizations based on how many jobs a company has created, taking into account its size and the industry. Hanssem also made the list in 2012. According to the company, its sales jumped from 712.8 billion won ($698.5 million) in 2011 to 1.007 trillion won last year, and in that period, it hired 825 new employees, which is almost half of its total of 1,647 workers as of last year.
