Samsung Electronics said on Thursday that it has sold 5,000 Chef Collection refrigerators in Korea in the 100 days since the product’s domestic release in March.
Chef Collection, a set of kitchen appliances that includes refrigerators, ovens, microwaves and dishwashers, is a premium brand that the company introduced last year to compete with luxury home appliance makers.
Samsung launched the full Chef Collection lineup in New York early this month.
The four-door refrigerator has several chef-inspired features, including Chef Mode, which minimizes temperature fluctuation, and Chef Pantry, which stores ingredients that are more fresh or fragile. It also has a triple-cooling system and a metal cooling plate, which reduces the loss of cold air.
Its price in the United States ranges from $5,700 to $6,000.
