Steering mechanism bolt prompts recall of 2,000 Souls

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said yesterday that more than 2,000 units of Kia Motors’ Soul will be recalled due to a possibly defective bolt in the steering mechanism.
According to the ministry, 2,474 Soul compact multipurpose vehicles manufactured between Oct. 26 and Dec. 31 will be recalled because a bolt that stabilizes the pinion gear of the steering wheel bar could loosen, causing noise and affecting steering.
Owners can receive free repairs at Kia service shops starting July 7.
