Korea Post to stop delivering packages on Saturday

Korea Post said its Saturday parcel delivery service, including EMS parcels, will come to an end next Saturday as part of efforts to ensure that deliver workers do not have to work extra hours. From then, letters and parcels sent on Friday will be delivered on Monday.

Express mail packages and parcels from overseas that arrive in Korea on Friday will be delivered on the same day, but mail that arrives on Saturday will be delivered Monday. Korean labor law mandated that people can work up to 2,080 hours a year. According to the state-run post office, Korean postal workers work 2,640 hours a year, about 1.3 times longer than other workers, at 2,090 hours.
