GM Korea offers to produce next Cruze at Gunsan plant
GM Korea has offered to produce the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze compact car at its Gunsan plant in North Jeolla as part of contract negotiations with its union, the company reported yesterday.The Gunsan plant is not currently part of next-generation Cruze production plans. The company’s proposal would ease concerns about the future of the plant. The car is expected to begin production within five years.
Korea’s third-largest automaker already proposed to the union that regular bonuses should be counted as base pay in order to finalize wage negotiations smoothly.
