For most people, summer vacation season ends in mid-August.
This year the number of people traveling overseas to spend has increased largely, thanks to more flights by budget airlines and the appreciation of the won against the U.S. dollar.
According to the airport authority, since last month an average of 150,000 people have traveled abroad daily, exceeding last year’s record of 148,000.
Due to the increase in travelers, Incheon International Airport has opened up six more security checkpoints and additional parking spaces.
