LG U+ introduces the world’s first 4K ultra-high definition (UHD) IPTV set-top box equipped with a quad-core CPU yesterday at Nine Tree Convention in Myeong-dong, central Seoul. The company said the CPU can process 1.2 billion instructions per second, allowing viewers to see four channels on a single screen. Korea’s third largest mobile carrier said it also will provide services like “earphone TV,” so that viewers can listen to the sound of the TV by connecting earbuds to the remote control. [NEWS1]
