Foreign Company Day honors contributions to the economy



The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Foreign Company Association yesterday celebrated Foreign Company Day at Coex Intercontinental Hotel, southern Seoul. Fifty-six foreign CEOs, Korean financiers and traders were honored for their contributions to export expansion and job creation in Korea.

Wendell Weeks, CEO of Corning Specialty Materials Korea, received the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit for his contribution to the local display industry. Kato Motomi, CEO of Denso Korea Automotive, received the silver award for a new auto parts factory in Gyeonggi, and Ahn Choong-young, former foreign direct investment ombudsman at Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra), received the bronze award for quickly dealing with foreign companies’ predicaments.
